We hang lights for a living, not harvest data. Here is everything this site does with your information — the whole list.
When you send the quote form we store what you typed — name, phone number, town, and the service you asked about — so we can call you back with a price. That's the only reason. We never sell, rent, or share your contact information, and we don't add you to marketing lists.
When you type an address, we look it up against OpenStreetMap data to measure the building footprint. If you tap "use my location," your coordinates are used once for that lookup and are not stored with anything that identifies you. Measured results are cached anonymously so repeat lookups are fast. Address lookups use © OpenStreetMap contributors data.
So you can see how we got the number, we show that footprint drawn over an aerial photo of the spot. The photo is public-domain imagery from the USGS National Map, and our server fetches it, not your browser — the imagery service never sees who is looking or from where. The photo is ordinary aerial mapping imagery, the same kind any map site shows; it is not live, and nothing about your visit is sent back to it.
Photos you upload to the visualizer are resized in your browser, processed in memory to generate the preview, and never written to storage. We can't look at them later; neither can anyone else.
Photos attached to the quote form are different, and we keep those on purpose — they are how we price garage doors, railings and posts without guessing. They are resized in your browser, stored privately on our own Cloudflare storage, and readable only by the owner of this business through an authenticated link. They are never public, never indexed, and never shared. Ask us and we delete them; otherwise they go at the end of the season with your quote.
Its aiming view uses your camera as a live viewfinder only — nothing is recorded, saved, or uploaded. Tilt angles and GPS distances are computed on your phone; coordinates reach our server only if you ask for the roofline bonus, and are never stored.
We count what happens here so we know which pages and tools are worth keeping. Our own server records the page you viewed, which tool you used, and whether you sent a request or tapped the phone number — along with the page address, your device type (phone or desktop), the approximate city and country our host reports, and the site that referred you. We do not store your IP address, and we never store the contents of a form in these records.
To join those moments into one visit, your browser holds a random, meaningless token for as long as the tab is open. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to anyone else, it cannot identify you, and it disappears the moment you close the tab. These records are deleted automatically after 180 days.
We run no advertising trackers, no remarketing pixels, and no social media pixels, and this site sets no cookies of its own. Our host (Cloudflare) collects standard performance and security telemetry to keep the site fast and to stop abuse — that includes short-lived, per-connection counters we use to rate-limit the free tools, which expire within about an hour.
Ask and we will delete every record tied to your visit or your quote request — see below. If you prefer to block measurement outright, any content blocker or your browser's tracking protection will stop these requests, and the site works exactly the same with them blocked.
Want your quote request deleted, or have a question this page doesn't answer? Email hello@peninsulachristmaslights.com or call (360) 437-6263 and we'll take care of it.
